The event attracted 118 participants, including representatives from Japanese businesses, managers and individuals interested in solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and sustainable development.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Dinh Tho - Director of the Institute of Strategy and Policy on Natural Resources and Environment (Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment), the training program on greenhouse gas inventory and development of domestic voluntary carbon market is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge from basic to advanced on issues related to greenhouse gas inventory.
The training covers aspects such as measurement, reporting, verification and inventory methods, and guides to effective emission reduction planning. Trainees are thoroughly trained on greenhouse gases, greenhouse effect mechanisms and their far-reaching impacts on global climate change. The program also provides tools and methods for greenhouse gas inventory, carbon emission reduction planning and emission reduction project development, facilitating individuals and organizations to participate in the domestic voluntary carbon market.
The program aims to enhance the practical capacity of individuals, organizations and businesses, helping them to effectively participate in environmental protection initiatives. Thereby, the program has actively contributed to the implementation of greenhouse gas emission reduction targets of Vietnam and the world. This is also a solid foundation for businesses to take advantage of climate finance opportunities, while meeting increasingly stringent legal requirements and environmental standards.
This is considered an important milestone in raising awareness of greenhouse gas management and developing a voluntary carbon market. At the same time, the program lays the foundation for future training courses, contributing to building a high-quality workforce and promoting initiatives towards the Net-Zero goal and sustainable development of Vietnam.
