According to residents living in lane 13/94/ Linh Nam Street, Hanoi City, at around 8:00 a.m. on November 14, people discovered a fire at house number 12 in the lane. At the time of the fire, an old man in the house managed to escape safely.
When they discovered smoke coming from inside, people around shouted to each other to use fire extinguishers to put out the fire but failed and called the police and firefighters. Upon receiving the report, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police of Hanoi City Police dispatched 4 fire trucks and 1 water tank to the scene.
However, because the fire broke out at the house located too deep in the alley, the fire truck could not reach it and had to stop outside alley 13 Linh Nam Street. Firefighting forces mobilized water from a nearby production facility to quickly put out the fire, preventing it from spreading to surrounding houses.
At about 8:30 a.m. the same day, the fire was controlled. However, many of the furniture inside were burned down.
The cause of the fire is being investigated and clarified by the authorities.
