Gia Lai - Reservoirs and dams need to be accelerated in construction progress to ensure safety for people in downstream areas during this year's flood season.

On June 9, according to a report by the Gia Lai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the unit is implementing 2 large irrigation projects with a total investment of 635 billion VND.

In which, the project to build reservoirs and complete the irrigation canal system has a total investment of 485 billion VND, including Ca Tung water reservoir and items to complete the Tau Dau 2, Ia Ro, Plei Tho Ga, Plei Keo irrigation systems.

To date, the value of the implemented volume reached 19.1 billion VND, equivalent to 5.1% of the contract value; accumulated disbursement reached 148.89 billion VND, of which the 2026 capital plan disbursed 16.04 billion VND, equal to 5.12%.

For the Ia Prat reservoir project with a total investment of 150 billion VND, the locality has completed the handover of 100% of the site from May 11, 2026.

The realized value reached 10 billion VND, equivalent to 12.3% of the contract value; disbursement of the 2026 capital plan reached 38.59 billion VND, equal to 33.91%.

The progress of site clearance and construction of some items is still slow, while the western Gia Lai area has entered the rainy season, posing a risk of affecting the completion progress of the project and the disbursement plan of public investment capital.

Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee directs communes with projects passing through, especially Dak Po commune, to focus on thoroughly removing obstacles related to land, legal documents and compensation and site clearance work.

The government promotes propaganda and mobilization to help people understand the meaning and benefits of irrigation works, creating consensus in the project implementation process.

At the same time, strengthen inspection and supervision of the capacity and responsibility of contractors, resolutely preventing the situation of slow construction and prolonged delays, affecting investment efficiency and capital disbursement capacity in 2026.
