New points in the Charter of the National Press Award 2024

Can Tho - The 2024 National Press Awards Regulations have many new points, especially 2 new Award groups: Multimedia Press Awards and Creative Press Awards.

On the morning of December 6, in Can Tho City, the Vietnam Journalists Association opened a conference on high-quality journalism in the context of digital transformation to meet the new requirements of the National Press Awards Charter and promote the task of sustainable development in the Southern region.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association; Mr. Tran Trong Dung - Vice President of Vietnam Journalists Association; leaders of Can Tho City, leaders of Journalists Associations of 19 provinces and cities, press agencies in the South...

Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Nguyen Duc Loi - Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association - said that from this year, the National Press Awards Charter has many new points, especially the two new award groups: Multimedia Press Awards and Creative Press Awards. The addition has shown proactive adherence to the new viewpoints and policies of the Party and State, in line with the reality and general development trends of the press and media.

This conference aims to introduce and share new points of the revised National Press Awards Charter in 2024; experiences in applying digital transformation to create high-quality press works, as well as necessary content to promote the task of sustainable development in the Southern region in particular and the whole country in general.

Clarifying the roles and tasks of the press in disseminating the task of sustainable national development; evaluating the results of the National Press Awards over 18 years of implementation, the contribution of the High-Quality Journalism Support Program to improving the expertise and professionalism of reporters; introducing, guiding and clarifying new points of the revised National Press Awards Charter in 2024...

In Can Tho City alone, Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee - acknowledged that in the city, there are 71 agencies and representative offices of press agencies operating with more than 1,000 staff, reporters, editors...

The Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee hopes that in the coming time, the press in the Southern region in particular and the press in the whole country in general will promote the development of multi-platform, multi-service, and multi-media press products; apply big data and artificial intelligence in press and communication activities, especially in creative activities; focus on developing press human resources that are both "red" and "specialized"...

At the conference, delegates listened to presentations on the following topics: Southwestern journalism in sustainable development communication; creative journalism, ideas and implementation; creating high-quality multimedia journalism works; applying technology to produce multimedia journalism products and creative journalism; experience in selecting and investing in creating high-quality journalism and some shortcomings that need attention...
