Responding to the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" launched by the Prime Minister and the call of the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF), the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the VFF has chaired and coordinated with Dien Bien province to organize and complete the mobilization and support for the construction of 5,000 Great Solidarity houses for poor households towards the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory.
As of December 15, 2024, the province has received over 575 billion VND. Of which, support for building Great Solidarity houses is over 298 billion VND; support for implementing social security is nearly 275 billion VND; and support for the "For the Poor" Peak Month is 2.6 billion VND.
With great determination, the province has completed 5,451 Great Solidarity houses for poor households, with a total support budget of over 270 billion VND, helping poor households have new houses. After receiving support to build houses, 1,132 households have escaped poverty, determined to rise up to escape poverty sustainably.
As one of the households that was given a Great Solidarity House, Mr. Giang A Thao (Ma Khua village, Quai Nua commune, Tuan Giao district) said: “In 2022, my family will celebrate Tet in a new house. My children and I are very excited and touched by the attention of the Party, the State, the local government as well as the people. Having a new house, my family is more secure.”
In Chieng So commune, Dien Bien Dong district, where 402 out of 1,200 households were supported to build Great Solidarity houses. Mr. Lo Van Dung - Secretary of the Chieng So commune Party Committee - said: "The commune has changed its appearance with the appearance of hundreds of new, solid houses replacing temporary houses, thatched houses and bamboo houses. Living in a solid house is the dream of poor and near-poor households".
Speaking at the program, Mr. Tran Quoc Cuong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee - said that Dien Bien province has focused highly on leading and directing the realization of the goal of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households in the area by 2025.
Mr. Cuong also called on and hoped that agencies, organizations, enterprises, collectives, individuals, cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, soldiers of the armed forces and people of all walks of life in Dien Bien province would continue to join hands, be unanimous, respond and participate in contributing to the emulation and support movements of the province in the coming time.
On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee awarded outstanding collectives and individuals who participated in supporting and building Great Solidarity houses for the poor on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory and individuals and households with the will to escape poverty.
