New developments in overcoming violations of Muong Thanh Bac Ninh project

The investor of Muong Thanh project sent an official dispatch to the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province requesting approval to adjust the investment policy.

The People's Committee of Bac Ninh province has just issued an official dispatch regarding the consideration of the proposal of Dien Bien Construction Company No. 1. The official dispatch was sent to the Departments of Planning and Investment, Construction, Natural Resources and Environment; Bac Ninh City People's Committee; Dien Bien Construction Company No. 1.

Accordingly, the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province received a request from Construction Company No. 1 of Dien Bien province to request approval to adjust the investment policy.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to preside over and coordinate with relevant agencies and units to consider the proposal of Construction Company No. 1 of Dien Bien province in the above document; review and provide specific guidance on the documents, procedures, and order of subsequent implementation of the project based on legal regulations to completely resolve the remaining issues, complete, accept, and hand over for use according to the Conclusion of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee No. 580-TB/TU dated May 17, 2023.

Dien Bien Province Construction Company No. 1 is responsible for providing records, documents, and coordinating with the Department of Planning and Investment during the implementation process.

According to Notice No. 580-TB/TU, dated May 17, 2023, the Bac Ninh Provincial Party Committee assigned units to correct the violations of the Investor (Muong Thanh Project) and accept the above project for use according to regulations.

Previously, from June 2023, Lao Dong Newspaper had a series of articles reflecting on violations at the Muong Thanh Bac Ninh project (Tien An ward, Bac Ninh city).

Accordingly, although only licensed to build a hotel and apartment project for rent, with a 50-year ownership period, the investor Muong Thanh Bac Ninh sold more than 121 apartments to people through a "condominium sale and purchase" contract, committing to support the issuance of pink books.

Everything was revealed when the residents could not apply for the apartment ownership certificate as committed in the contract signed with the investor.

The investor Muong Thanh Bac Ninh then proposed a solution to buy back the above apartments from customers.

In April 2024, speaking with a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Khac Hanh, Director of Muong Thanh Bac Ninh Hotel, said that the unit is still in the process of negotiating and buying back apartments in the project from 38 customers (previously negotiating and buying back 83 apartments), according to the direction of the Provincial People's Committee.
