On the afternoon of December 31, information from the Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee Office said that the unit had just announced the direction of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee on selecting a plan to implement the investment project to build the North-South Expressway in the West, Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) - Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc) section.
The Standing Committee of Dak Nong Provincial Party Committee agreed to choose option 2. Accordingly, the centerline of the expressway will move nearly 8km west compared to the pre-feasibility plan.
The starting point of the route is expected to intersect with Ho Chi Minh road at Km1923+750, in Kien Thanh commune, Dak R'lap district.
This route is suitable for the planning of the North-South Expressway in the West, has favorable terrain, does not affect the Nhan Co Alumina project complex and helps save more than 1,000 billion VND compared to the pre-feasibility plan.
However, this route will pass through the Nhan Co bauxite mine area, so it is necessary to request permission to adjust exploitation and assess environmental impact.
The Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway project has a total length of 128.8km, passing through Dak Nong and Binh Phuoc provinces, with a total investment of VND25,540 billion. The project is expected to be basically completed in 2026 and put into operation in 2027.
Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee has allocated 250 billion VND for site clearance and construction of the service road. The Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board was assigned as the investor of the service road project. Dak R'lap District People's Committee is in charge of site clearance.
Previously, on December 27, Dak Nong province requested Binh Phuoc province to direct investors to promptly complete the feasibility study report for approval, ensuring the overall progress of the project.
