Investigating the cause of the house fire that killed an old woman

As of the afternoon of June 9, functional forces are still blockading the scene to investigate the cause of the house fire that killed one person in Linh Xuan ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

Initial information, at about 12 noon on the same day, a fire suddenly broke out at a level 4 house located in an alley on Truc Chinh 10 street, neighborhood 34, Linh Xuan ward. Discovering the fire, people around immediately shouted and used water hoses and mini fire extinguishers to put out the fire.

Upon receiving the news, the ward police force coordinated with the Fire and Rescue Team of Area 2 to quickly arrive and deploy a plan to control the fire. The fire was extinguished immediately afterwards. However, when entering to inspect the scene, functional forces discovered a person who had died. The victim was identified as Ms. P.T. D. H (76 years old).

According to local people, the victim lived with her granddaughter. At the time of the fire, the granddaughter had gone to work, so Ms. H. was home alone. Due to old age, weakness and difficulty walking, the victim could not escape when the fire broke out.

Currently, the exact cause of the fire is being further investigated and clarified by functional agencies.
