Da Nang - Along the beach in Hoa Hiep Bac ward (Lien Chieu district) is being seriously eroded, causing erosion of local shops.

The construction of items of the Nam O Ecological Park and Ghenh Square Project in Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District has caused serious erosion at the Cu De River mouth, stretching hundreds of meters, seriously affecting the business of people living in this area.

Local people believe that the construction of the Nam O Rapids Ecological Park and Square Project on the opposite side has impacted and affected the Cu De estuary area, the beach along the embankment from Hai Van Cement Factory to Nam O Bridge.

Pointing to the distance, Ms. Ngo Thi Hai - Owner of a seafood restaurant right on the beach said: "Years ago, the beach here was very beautiful, my restaurant was located far away. But now, the waves are strong, the sea water is eroding deeply, causing serious erosion, making it impossible for us to do business as well as before. Not only that, many tourist attractions along this beach have been destroyed by the waves, washed away into the sea."

According to the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward, recently, when the investor constructed the Nam O Ecological Park and Ghenh Square Project, it affected the natural ecology in the ward.

The Ward People's Committee has inspected and sent 2 reports to the Lien Chieu District People's Committee on this issue, but so far the above situation has not been resolved.

On July 29, the People's Committee of Hoa Hiep Bac Ward continued to report to propose the People's Committee of the district and specialized departments of Lien Chieu district to organize inspections, surveys and have plans to adjust and overcome to limit the impact on infrastructure and the environment during the construction of the project on the ward.

The Nam O Rapids Ecological Park and Square Project is constructing a concrete sea breakwater, stretching hundreds of meters from the foot of the Nam O railway bridge to the estuary. After the construction of the breakwater, erosion has occurred at the opposite river mouth, with water eating into the sandbank dozens of meters deep…

Previously, the construction of the breakwater of the above project was also forced to be temporarily suspended for inspection because it was built close to the foot of the Nam O railway bridge, violating railway safety.
