It is forecasted that in the next 24-48 hours, the continental cold high pressure will maintain a stable intensity and then gradually weaken. The Northeast wind will operate at an average level over the Southeast sea.
Above, the subtropical high pressure with an axis through the Central region continues to encroach to the West. The equatorial low pressure trough lifts its axis to 6-9 degrees North latitude, connecting with the low pressure area in the South China Sea and combined with high-altitude East wind disturbances.
In the next 3-10 days, the continental high pressure will weaken but from December 13 it is likely to strengthen strongly again, and will continue to be supplemented around December 17-18. The low pressure trough of 6-9 degrees North latitude and high-altitude easterly wind disturbances will gradually weaken.
In the southern seas, the Northeast wind is currently at an average level but will gradually strengthen from December 10. The high-altitude subtropical high pressure will remain stable until December 13, then tend to weaken, gradually retreat to the East and lower its axis to the South.
In the South, thunderstorms will begin to appear from December 10. Dry weather, reduced humidity; some days are cold at night and early morning, sunny during the day, which can affect health.
The highest water level of the day on the Saigon River will continue to decrease in the next 5 days. The peak tide at or above alert level I may last until December 10-11.
People need to be vigilant against strong Northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7-8 combined with high tides, easily causing flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers, affecting traffic and daily activities.
