Specifically, Ben Tre City after the merger will have 5 wards. In which, Ben Tre ward was established on the basis of merging ward 7, Binh Phu commune, Thanh Tan commune (Mo Cay Bac district). As for Son Dong ward, it is based on the merger of ward 7, Son Dong commune, Ben Tre city and Tam Phuoc commune (Chau Thanh district).
Giong Trom district, Ba Tri district, Binh Dai district each have 7 communes after the merger. Cho Lach district, Chau Thanh district each district has 4 communes after the merger.
Mo Cay Bac district after the merger has 3 communes.
For Mo Cay Nam district after the merger, there are 5 communes. In which, Dong Khoi commune was established on the basis of merging Dinh Thuy commune, Phuoc Hiep commune and Binh Khanh commune.
Thanh Phu district alone has 6 communes after the merger.
