Previously, on the afternoon of August 23, nearly 20 people in Tan Lien commune brought a number of items such as infrared stoves, rice cookers... to the People's Committee of Tan Lien commune, reporting that they had spent money to buy the items. origin unknown.
Accordingly, on August 21, at a restaurant specializing in weddings in Tan Lien commune, a group of people from outside the province "held a seminar" to promote their products, then called on people to attend.
When present here, each person was given 50,000 VND for gasoline expenses and items such as brass, soap, and chopsticks.
After that, the group started introducing and selling products such as fish sauce, seasoning powder, pans... at cheap prices.
What's special is that when people spend money to buy these cheap products, they receive tickets to exchange for gifts. Then when you receive the purchased product, you will be refunded the purchase price.
The group continued to introduce higher value items such as a rice cooker priced at 4.6 million VND. There were 2 people who spent 4.6 million VND to buy goods, then a group of people delivered a rice cooker and returned 4.6 million VND.
On August 22, many people spent money to buy rice cookers and infrared cookers for 4.6 million VND. While the whole hall was waiting for promotions, the group of people quietly got in the car and left the locality.
Ms. Linh (name changed, residing in Tan Lien commune) said that the group of people said that when preparing to open a store, they should organize a seminar to introduce it to people.
“They also said they would introduce and sell products for 3 days, and on the third day they would sell TVs and refrigerators. After that, 10 banquet trays will be made to invite localities and people around to celebrate the launch. Thinking they opened a store, it would be reputable, and saw many promotions, so I spent 4.6 million VND to buy a rice cooker. Now the origin of the rice cooker is unknown, there are barcodes of all kinds but when checking, there is not enough information" - Ms. Linh said.
Mr. Nguyen Tan - Chairman of Tan Lien Commune People's Committee said that a unit contacted the Commune People's Committee, asking to introduce products so that they could later open a store locally. The commune requested to provide documents, then that unit promised to come to work on August 23, and would like to display the products first.
“The locality does not know that that unit sells goods. When they found out, they left and have not yet been able to contact that unit. After people complained, the police are investigating the case" - Mr. Nguyen Tan said.
