Duong Quang Ham Street (from Cultural Park to the railway, bordering Binh Thanh District) is nearly 2.5km long, expanded from 6m to 32m for 6 lanes of traffic. This is one of the main roads of Go Vap District, with a total investment of more than 2,300 billion VND.
Of which, the majority of the budget, about 1,750 billion VND, is for site clearance, which Go Vap District is responsible for. The construction and installation part of the project is invested by the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board (Traffic Board).
However, since its commencement in April 2020, the project has encountered many obstacles. After only 4 months of construction, the project had to be temporarily suspended in August 2020 due to land issues. It was not until September 2023, after Go Vap district began handing over part of the land, that the project was restarted.

Although site clearance work has resumed, there are still many cases that have not been handed over, causing the construction process to be interrupted.
According to the Traffic Department, the project to expand and upgrade Duong Quang Ham Street is divided into 3 construction packages. The section from the beginning of the route to Nguyen Thai Son Street, the implementation value has only reached 16.2 billion VND/40.3 billion VND because there are still 21 cases of land not yet handed over on the left side of the route (from Nguyen Viet Xuan Primary School to Nguyen Thai Son Street).
The section from Nguyen Thai Son Street to Road No. 2, the right side has completed the drainage and is waiting for the addition of technical tanks to continue construction. On the left side, there are still 550m of uncleared land, making the construction value reach nearly 13 billion VND/49.17 billion VND.
The final section from Road No. 2 to Nguyen Van Luong has completed the drainage system and is under construction, with a value of about VND14.5 billion/VND44.13 billion. However, there is still a military land lot and a bunker that has not been handed over.

The Duong Quang Ham road expansion project aims to open to traffic by the end of December 2024.
The Traffic Department said that it had previously requested Go Vap district to complete 100% of site clearance by July 2024 to ensure construction progress and disbursement of investment capital.
However, up to now, there are still 45 unresolved cases, including 9 cases under the management of military units.
Go Vap District People's Committee said that the total number of households affected by the project is 425 and so far, 380 households have handed over their land. Of these, 36 households have not handed over, the rest are on defense land.
To resolve this delay, the People's Committee of Go Vap District has stepped up efforts to persuade the remaining households and organizations to hand over the site soon.
In addition, relevant agencies are also working with the Ministry of National Defense to quickly complete procedures for handing over military-managed sites, helping to ensure construction progress.
The Traffic Department also said that it is coordinating with Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Corporation to carry out underground power system, striving to complete all project items by the end of this year.
When expanded, Duong Quang Ham Street will not only reduce traffic congestion in the area but also help connect synchronously with other roads such as Phan Van Tri, Nguyen Thai Son, and Le Duc Tho.
