For many years, people in Lam Giang commune (Van Yen district) have always had to live in insecurity and worry because of the damaged state of provincial road 164, the road surface has subsided, revealing many gravel and rocks, and is full of potholes and elephant holes. .
According to people, this road was built in 2015, and through use has now seriously degraded, posing a potential risk of traffic accidents.
To solve the above situation, recently, the Chairman of Yen Bai Provincial People's Committee approved the Project to repair damage to the foundation, road surface, drainage system and traffic safety system of An Binh - Lam Giang road; Total investment capital is 46 billion VND.
At the same time, the project was approved by the Director of the Department of Transport of Yen Bai province for construction design to be implemented after the basic design in the decision dated July 12, 2024.
According to Labor's report on August 23, at provincial road 164 passing through Khe Trang village, Lam Giang commune, it has seriously degraded, the road surface is sagging and peeling, in some high places, in low places due to not being repaired for a long time.
Not only that, some locations reveal dangerously slippery ground, a series of potholes and potholes with water left behind after the rain, making it difficult for vehicles to move through.
Mr. Nguyen Van Linh (29 years old, Lam Giang commune) said that people are very happy and excited when the "suffering" road is about to be repaired and upgraded.
"Especially on rainy days, the road has many "water buffalo puddles" which are very dangerous. Therefore, I hope the project will be implemented soon and completed before the rainy and stormy season, so that people's transportation will be less difficult," Mr. Linh said.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai (38 years old, residing in Lam Giang commune), the happiest women are those who often travel on this road.
"The route has many potholes and potholes, making it very difficult for women and the elderly to travel by motorbike," Ms. Hai shared.
Talking to reporters, a representative of Yen Bai Department of Transport said that this agency is organizing the selection of construction contractors and construction supervision consulting contractors.
It is expected that the project will start construction in the second half of August or September 2024.
