On May 10, the People's Committee of Chanh Phu Hoa Ward, Ben Cat City, Binh Duong Province is continuing to fix the landslide incident that occurred on the old railway line.
This road is a socialized project, renovating the old railway line, from university 604 to the university's border 605. The road has a foundation width of about 10 m, with a total length of 2.2 km. The road mainly passes through rubber gardens of households.
The leader of the People's Committee of Chanh Phu Hoa Ward confirmed that the old railway line had landslides again. The location occurred right at the previous landslide and is under repair.
According to local authorities, this morning, continuous heavy rains from 5am caused local flooding in many places.
At around 10:30 a.m., a landslide about 6 m long occurred on the old railway line. At this time, passersby promptly discovered and stopped, so there was no loss of life or property.
The reason is due to low-lying terrain, prolonged heavy rain, and the repair work is not yet complete.
As soon as the information was received, leaders of the City Party Committee, Ben Cat City People's Committee and Chanh Phu Hoa Ward arrived at the scene, directed the installation of warning signs and sent forces to regulate traffic on the route to ensure safety.
Currently, functional sectors are actively coordinating and quickly overcoming the damage to soon put the road into service for the people.
Previously, Lao Dong Newspaper reported that on February 13, heavy rain at the beginning of the season caused landslides in the above location. At the time of the landslide, 2 people passing by fell into a deep hole. Both victims were seriously injured and taken to the emergency room.
It is known that the old railway line with a length of 2.2 km started construction in August 2024 and was inaugurated in January 2025. The cost of building this road is about 11 billion VND, contributed by households. The previous landslide used the socialized funding of the people (about 1 billion VND) for repairs.

The road has been eroded twice, causing people to worry about the safety of traffic here and the quality of the project. People believe that, even if it is a socialized project, it is necessary to strictly control the quality of the project to ensure the safety of people participating in traffic.
