Dien Bien - By selling her favorite teddy bears, Dien Bien Baby has contributed more than 16 million VND to support people in flooded areas.

After the sensational image at the 70th Anniversary of Dien Bien Phu Victory Ceremony, little Tran Vy Tram (commonly known as Banh Mi, 5 years old), also known as "Dien Bien Baby" or " Monument Baby", is currently living with her family in Dien Bien Phu Ward, Dien Bien Province.

Recently, the 5-year-old girl once again moved the online community with a small but meaningful action, with the "Banordomo" project, raising more than 16 million VND to support people who suffered heavy losses due to floods in her hometown of Dien Bien.

Talking to Lao Dong, the mother of Tram - Ms. Vuong Y Nhi (born in 1993) - said that after watching images of the heavy rain on the night of July 31 and early morning of August 1 causing terrible flash floods and landslides, causing heavy damage to people and property in many mountainous communes of Dien Bien province, she was extremely heartbroken.

"On the morning of August 1, witnessing the losses of the people, I and my daughter came up with the idea of implementing the project "Ban Dau Bong" to raise funds to support. When I asked her for her opinion, she did not hesitate to agree immediately" - Ms. Nhi recounted.

Notably, the number of teddy bears sold is mostly precious souvenirs that little Tram is loved by people across the country to give after the Ceremony, in addition to bears bought by the mother and child.

"The family should have kept those teddy bears as souvenirs for the children. But when he saw his hometown people in trouble, his family did not think much. The project was conceived and implemented in just a few minutes" - Ms. Nhi said.

The "Ban Dao Bong" project was implemented until the morning of August 3. More than 30 teddy bears for tens to 200,000 VND have been sold out. The spread of the project is beyond the imagination of the mother and child.

"There are brothers and sisters who bought only one or two bears but transferred a larger amount of money to join hands with the project" - Ms. Nhi said.

At the end of the project, the total amount of money from selling teddy bears and family contributions and support from benefactors was 16.3 million VND. The entire amount was sent to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province to support people affected by natural disasters.

Through small actions, Ms. Vuong Y Nhi hopes that her child will have a valuable lesson in love and sharing with difficult circumstances since he was a child.

According to statistics from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dien Bien province, at the launching ceremony to support people affected by natural disasters (August 5), 10.3 billion VND in support funds were received and registered for support from organizations, units, businesses and individuals.

In addition, the amount of donations received into the account of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, from August 2 to 5:00 p.m. on August 5, was more than 3 billion VND.

The entire amount of donations will be supported by the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province for people in areas affected by natural disasters, contributing to helping people in flooded areas to soon stabilize their lives.

In recent days, floods and landslides in the North Central and Northern mountainous provinces have killed and left many people missing, houses, schools and maple blossoms were swept away and submerged in mud, affecting local production activities.

"A piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full", with the spirit of mutual love that has always been a beautiful image of the Vietnamese people, the Golden Heart Social Charity Fund calls on domestic and foreign philanthropists to join hands to share with people affected by floods.... to soon stabilize their lives.

The Golden Heart Social Charity Fund would like to sincerely thank the precious feelings of agencies, businesses, and domestic and foreign philanthropists.
