Nearly 180 candidates participate in the 2024 Youth Skills Competition

On October 12, the 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Youth Skills Competition with the theme "Golden Hands for a Clean, Green City" officially opened.

According to the Organizing Committee, the contest is a practical activity to welcome the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh City and the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029; Celebrating the 68th anniversary of the Vietnam Youth Union's Traditional Day (October 15, 1956 - October 15, 2024) and the 42nd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Workers' Traditional Day (October 15, 1982 - October 15, 2024).

The 2024 Ho Chi Minh City Youth Skills Competition with the theme "Golden Hands for a Clean, Green City" is organized with many contents and forms of competition, ensuring professional requirements, creating a vibrant and joyful competitive atmosphere, honoring and motivating the workforce in the field of urban environmental sanitation.

The contest attracted the attention and registration of nearly 180 contestants who are young people and workers from 25 units and businesses operating in the field of urban environmental sanitation in Ho Chi Minh City.

The contest is divided into 2 groups: Group A (Individual competition group): For union members, youth, and workers who are directly involved in sweeping, collecting, and sorting garbage on the streets.

Group B (Team competition): Each team consists of 5 contestants who are union members, youth, and workers who are directly working on dredging and clearing sewers.

Candidates take an online multiple-choice test answering 50 questions revolving around general knowledge, basic knowledge of Labor Law, Labor Safety and Hygiene Law, related policies and regimes, occupational diseases, environmental hygiene awareness and professional skills on the online test page.

At the end of the preliminary round, the Organizing Committee selected 20 candidates from group A and 10 candidates from group B to the final round.

The final round of the competition is scheduled from October 21-25, 2024. In Group A, contestants complete the process of sweeping, collecting, and sorting waste on the streets. In Group B, teams complete a process of dredging and clearing sewers.

The summary and award ceremony is scheduled for November 5, 2024. The total prize value is over 70 million VND.
