Spending millions to take "trendy" Tet photos
To catch up with the "hot trend" of taking photos in ao dai to celebrate Tet, Cao Thu Thuy (Dong Da, Hanoi) is willing to spend from 1.5 to 2 million VND to have an impressive and beautiful ao dai photo set.
"To have a beautiful photo set "for Face", I spent nearly 2 million VND on this photo set. The cost of the photo set includes makeup, a professional photographer and an assistant.
I also prepared my own clothes. Tet cannot be without Ao Dai, so I carefully chose a traditional Ao Dai to welcome the new year with lots of hope and luck. Ao Dai photos are a hot trend, not only me but many of my friends also take advantage of this opportunity to take photos to celebrate Tet" - Thu Thuy shared.
Similarly, Nguyen Thi Thu Huong’s group - a second-year student at the University of Education, Vietnam National University (VNU) Hanoi - also planned to take photos 2 weeks ago. Not only investing in taking photos to welcome spring, according to Thu Huong, taking photos is also a way to preserve beautiful moments of youth.
"We love taking photos because in addition to "catching the trend", these are also the most beautiful images of youth. To take this photo series, we spent money to rent ao dai, accessories and a photographer.
To minimize costs, we take the initiative in traveling and doing makeup for each other, so it's not too expensive. We will definitely take more photos together in the future, especially in Ao Dai because it has a very Vietnamese traditional beauty" - Thu Huong shared.
Hoang Ha Nhung (Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi) chose Hoan Kiem Lake as the location to take photos because of its beautiful and poetic scenery.
“Hoan Kiem Lake is the most typical place of Hanoi Capital, giving me a traditional, cultural feeling. Many people come here to take pictures, I also want to join in that bustling atmosphere" - Ha Nhung shared.
Taking photos in Ao Dai is becoming a trend loved by young people. This shows the interest of the young generation in traditional culture.
The "money-making" time for photographers
According to research, this time is chosen by many young people to take spring photos because the weather is quite pleasant, the photo shoot locations are not too crowded, the scenes have started to have a Tet atmosphere and the cost is much "softer" than the days near Tet.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Bac - a photographer (from Soc Son, Hanoi) - said that these days, he is always busy because there are many customers booking photo shoots. In a day, he can take photos for 4-5 customers, earning 6.5 - 7 million VND/day, at peak times he can earn 8 - 10 million VND/day.
"I have been working as a photographer for several years now. Because I am loved by customers and have a stable number of regular customers, the time near Tet is the busiest time of the year for me and my team. From mid-November, I started having customers take photos and towards the end of the year, the number of customers ordering more and more, mainly GenZ girls.
Every day, I can take many different photo sets for customers, at peak times I can earn nearly ten million a day. Most of the time at this time, customers will love to take photos in ao dai and traditional costumes to post on social networking platforms during Tet" - Mr. Bac informed.
