On December 9, the People's Committee of Gia Lai province said that it proposed Son Hai Group to support the province in building a resettlement area to serve people in disaster areas. Currently, Son Hai Group has received the official dispatch from the province and will have a response as soon as possible.
In November 2025, Gia Lai province was hit by storm No. 13 and a historic flood, causing damage of more than VND 11,600 billion, beyond the local response and recovery capacity, seriously affecting people's lives.
The whole province recorded more than 32,600 collapsed, washed away or severely damaged houses that need to be built and urgently repaired to ensure safe housing.
Through the review, the whole province has 16 residential areas in dangerous areas, often facing the risk of landslides, flash floods, high tides, directly threatening the lives and property of people, forcing them to evacuate urgently.
To promptly evacuate people from dangerous areas, ensure safety of life, stabilize long-term housing and sustainable livelihoods, the province is implementing 16 projects and plans to urgently arrange residents, striving to complete all infrastructure and hand over houses before January 30, 2026.
The People's Committee of Gia Lai province proposed that Son Hai Group support the construction of the Ia Rsai Commune Resettlement Area project, implemented in Song Ba village, with a total estimated investment of 152 billion VND, on an area of about 10 hectares. When completed, the project will resettle 90 households in areas at high risk of natural disasters.
Regarding the implementation form, the province requested Son Hai Group to support the construction of essential technical infrastructure and houses according to the approved design, implemented according to the " hand-to-hand key" model, and completely handed over to households before the Lunar New Year 2026.
The Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee committed to directing the Ia Rsai Commune People's Committee and relevant agencies to complete and hand over 100% of the cleared land before December 15, while creating the most favorable conditions for the Group to implement the project.
In Ia Rsai Commune People's Committee, the recent flood caused 119 houses to be flooded. The rising stream water caused flooding to flood the Ia Rsai stream, isolating hamlets such as E Kia (114 households, 559 people), Chu Y (56 households, 304 people) and Chu Ti (117 households, 555 people), causing many difficulties in daily life, travel and activities of the people.
