On the morning of March 15, the leader of the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police Department - Khanh Hoa Provincial Police informed that the unit had just rescued 2 male tourists from Van Ninh district who got lost while climbing Co Tien Mountain, Vinh Hoa Ward, Nha Trang City on the evening of March 14.
Previously, receiving information about one of the two tourists getting lost on Co Tien Mountain when going down, the area on the mountain was dark, both were searching for darkness at night... the rescue and relief forces quickly took action and organized a search and rescue.

After nearly 2 hours of rescue, at 8:34 p.m. on March 14, the rescue team reached 2 tourists, Mr. Pham Minh Tr. (born in 1995) and Tran Thong Hien (born in 2006), both residing in Van Gia town.
After being taken down the mountain, the health of both tourists was stable. According to the victims, seeing many people sharing the beauty of Co Tien Mountain, the two decided to go to Nha Trang and explore.
However, when climbing, it was still morning so they followed the trail. Attracted by the beautiful scenery here and when going down the mountain, it was dark, so they gradually got lost and could not find the way back to the beginning.
In recent years, Co Tien Mountain has been visited by many tourists from inside and outside the province, even foreign tourists, to explore the beauty of Nha Trang city from above.
This is also the place that Nha Trang people choose to exercise and maintain protection against littering, plant trees to green the mountains...
However, the terrain of Co Tien mountain is quite complicated, with high slopes and many areas that are difficult to access. There have been cases of accidents, especially those who are inexperienced or subjective on first-time climbing.
Regarding the incident, the Fire Prevention and Fighting and Rescue Police force recommends that people and tourists should not climb mountains without necessary tour guides or support equipment.
At the same time, it is necessary to check weather forecasts, prepare health and equip themselves with basic knowledge of terrain before participating in adventure activities, minimizing unfortunate risks.
