These are existing roads being implemented under the BOT (build-operate-transfer) model, after Resolution 98 on special mechanisms allowed Ho Chi Minh City to apply.
Highway 13
National Highway 13 is the main traffic axis located at the northern gateway, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc provinces and the Central Highlands region.
Currently, the road surface is only 19 - 27m wide, causing traffic jams during rush hours and holidays, greatly affecting the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole region.

It is expected that National Highway 13 (from Binh Trieu Bridge to Binh Duong province border) will be nearly 6 km long, and will be expanded in combination with the construction of a 3.7 km elevated road with 4 lanes, along with a parallel road below with 3 lanes on each side.
Total investment capital is nearly 20,000 billion VND, of which site clearance cost is about 14,536 billion VND.
National Highway 1
The section of National Highway 1 through Binh Chanh District is the main gateway from Ho Chi Minh City to the Western provinces. This is also the section connecting many major roads such as Vo Van Kiet Avenue, Nguyen Van Linh, Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway, and is also the route leading to Mien Tay Bus Station.
However, the narrow road is only 20 - 25 m wide with 4 - 6 lanes, causing serious traffic jams during holidays and Tet.

It is expected that National Highway 1 (the section from Kinh Duong Vuong Street to Long An province border) with a length of 9.3 km will be expanded to 10 - 12 lanes.
Total project investment capital is about 15,897 billion VND, of which more than 11,000 billion VND is for site clearance.
Highway 22
National Highway 22 is the only Northwest gateway connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Moc Bai international border gate (Tay Ninh), playing an important role in trade with ASEAN countries.
However, the road is currently only 36 - 40m wide, with 2 car lanes and 1 motorbike lane on each side, leading to increased traffic congestion and accidents.

It is expected that the 8.7 km long section of National Highway 22, starting at An Suong intersection (District 12) and ending at Ring Road 3 (Hoc Mon district), will be expanded to 60 m with 10 lanes, and overpasses will be built at the intersections.
Total project investment capital is about 8,400 billion VND, of which site clearance cost is about 5,269 billion VND.
Binh Tien Bridge and Road
The Binh Tien bridge and road project has a total length of 3.66 km, starting from the Binh Tien - Pham Van Chi intersection (District 6), crossing Vo Van Kiet Avenue, Tau Hu Canal, Cay Sung Street (District 8), Doi Canal, Ta Quang Buu Street and connecting to Nguyen Van Linh Avenue (Binh Chanh District).

The entire route is proposed to be built on high ground, 30 to 40 meters wide, accommodating 4 to 6 lanes. The route has branches connecting to Vo Van Kiet, Binh Dong, Hoai Thanh, Ta Quang Buu and Nguyen Van Linh streets.
Total investment capital is about 6,800 billion VND, of which more than 2,878 billion VND is for site clearance.
Binh Tien Bridge and Road helps create a new road axis from the center of Ho Chi Minh City to Nguyen Van Linh Street, thereby connecting National Highway 50, National Highway 1, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, and Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3.
North-South axis
The North-South axis road project (Nguyen Huu Tho street) from Nguyen Van Linh intersection to Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway, has a total length of 8.6 km.
According to the proposal, the project will build a 7.8 km long elevated road with 4 lanes, combined with a parallel road with 3 lanes on each side below. At the same time, a new Nguyen Van Tao intersection with Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway will be built.

The total investment capital of the project is about 8,483 billion VND. After completing the upgrade, the North-South axis road will help reduce traffic congestion in the South and increase connectivity to key traffic routes such as Ring Road 2, Ring Road 3, Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway with Hiep Phuoc Port and key industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City and Long An.
