Director of Hanoi National University makes recommendations when relocating universities out of the inner city

The Director of Hanoi National University recommended that the city support educational institutions in the relocation process, ensuring learning and living conditions for students.

Many opinions of delegates related to the fields of education and health were raised at the discussion session of the 2nd Conference of the Hanoi City Party Committee Executive Committee (18th tenure), on the afternoon of November 12.

Director of Hanoi National University Hoang Minh Son said that science, technology and innovation are Hanoi's strengths. Therefore, the city should organize an annual thematic conference to evaluate the implementation of tasks in this field.

Expressing his agreement with the policy of relocating universities out of the inner city, the Director of Hanoi National University proposed that the city have a program to support educational institutions in the relocation process, ensuring learning and living conditions for students.

To make universities develop, there must be standard space and facilities. Hanoi needs to have its own program to solve this problem. Hanoi National University hopes that the city will coordinate to build scientific research centers with key laboratories in Hoa Lac urban area, which has an area of over 1,000 hectares, to attract businesses and economic groups to invest in developing innovative clusters, towards sustainable urban development", said the Director of Hanoi National University.

Meanwhile, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hanoi University and College Bloc Nguyen Thanh Son emphasized the goal of building Hanoi into a leading innovation center in the region, and at the same time proposed initial investment in universities to form an innovation ecosystem, spreading to neighboring areas, in addition to mobilizing the participation of people and businesses in the process of forming science and technology centers.

The Secretary of the Hoa Lac Commune Party Committee Dong Phuoc An informed: Implementing the Resolution of the 18th City Party Congress, Hoa Lac Commune has issued a thematic resolution on site clearance, striving to complete items to serve projects related to Hanoi National University and Hoa Lac High-Tech Park in 2025 and 2026.

The commune also coordinated with the two units to ensure security and order, and at the same time recommended that the city pay attention to investing in the transportation system, especially the elevated railway line, and arrange more police forces to meet practical requirements.

Regarding the health sector, Deputy Director in charge of the Hanoi Department of Health Nguyen Dinh Hung said that after operating the two-level local government, 126 health stations in communes and wards have been operating effectively. However, 74 of these stations are still old facilities and need investment and upgrading.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hung proposed that the city soon have a policy to develop a modern health system, aiming for the goal of having people receive free medical examination and treatment by 2030 and not having to go abroad for treatment.

At the end of the discussion session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong said that there were 16 opinions expressed around the contents presented at the conference.

Mr. Phong suggested that the agencies synthesize and fully absorb the report to complete the report, and at the same time requested the delegates to send additional written comments on the contents submitted at the conference for the City Party Committee to consider and explain specifically.
