On the afternoon of January 26 (ie 27th of Lunar New Year), the Traffic Police Department (Traffic Police, Ministry of Public Security) informed about the traffic safety and order situation on the second day of the holiday.
Accordingly, there were 53 traffic accidents nationwide, killing 25 people and injuring 47 people. Compared to the same period in 2024: 30 fewer accidents, 18 fewer deaths, and 20 fewer injuries.
Of which, there were 52 traffic accidents on the road, killing 25 people and injuring 46. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 31 fewer accidents, 18 fewer deaths, and 21 fewer injuries.
There was 1 railway accident, injuring 1 person, compared to the same period in 2024, an increase of 1 accident, 1 more injured person.
There were no accidents recorded on the waterway. Compared to the same period in 2024, there was no increase or decrease.
Regarding the traffic situation in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, and neighboring localities, traffic order and safety during the day were ensured, with no prolonged traffic jams or serious traffic accidents.
Also on the second day of the Tet holiday, local traffic police patrolled, controlled, and handled 7,855 violations; temporarily detained 74 cars, 2,618 motorbikes, and 88 other vehicles; revoked 344 driving licenses of all types, and deducted driving license points from 818 cases.
Of which, 2,106 cases were handled for alcohol concentration violations; 1,808 cases for speeding violations; and 9 cases for drug violations.
According to the Traffic Police Department, through the monitoring system of the Highway Traffic Control Patrol Teams, 28 cases were detected, of which 4 cases were stopped and 24 cases were sent violation notices.
The number of vehicles violating the regulations detected through technical equipment is 124; of which 30 cases were stopped from making administrative violation records; 94 cases were notified to vehicle owners.
Number of vehicles violating the law detected through mobile patrol and video recording: 28 cases (19 cases were recorded, 9 cases were notified).
On waterways, the authorities inspected, detected and handled 7 violations, imposing fines of 45 million VND. The railway authorities detected and handled 2 violations, imposing fines of 1 million VND.
