The Hanoi Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board has just reported to the city a number of bridges and tunnels across the Red River in the planning, expected to be ready for investment in 2026.
According to the plan, Hanoi city has a total of 22 bridges and tunnels across the Red River, of which 9 bridges have been invested in. In 2025, the city is implementing 7 bridges and plans to invest in 6 bridges in the medium term, in addition to updating and supplementing the planning of 6 bridges.
For projects that are being proposed for investment and construction, within Ring Road 4, it is expected to arrange 2 bridges and tunnels according to the plan, in addition to Ring Road 4, to study investment in Phu Xuyen Bridge.
Specifically, the road tunnel across the Red River on the Ring Road 2.5 with 2 sections, with a total investment of about VND 46,534 billion.
In particular, the northern section has a starting point at the Ciputra urban area Park Street (Phu Thuong Ward), an end point intersecting with National Highway 5 (Vinh Thanh Commune), 5.6km long, 2 tunnels with a diameter of 15.2m arranged with 2 floors 3.5km long, 40m wide, with a total investment of about VND 21,930 billion.
The southern section has a starting point at Linh Nam Street intersecting with Nguyen Khoi, the end point at Ly Thanh Tong Street intersecting with Giap Hai Street ( Bat Trang Commune), 6km long, 2 tunnels with a diameter of 15.2m arranged with 2 floors, 3.65km long, 40m wide; the total investment is about 24,604 billion VND.
Khuyen Luong Bridge starts at the intersection of Tam Trinh Street and Ring Road 3 (Yen So Ward, Hanoi City), the end point connects with the project of a road connecting cultural heritage and tourism along the Red River (Hung Yen Heritage Road) in Phung Cong Commune (Hung Yen Province).
The length of the route is 5.715km, of which the bridge is 5.5km long, arranged with 2 bridge units of 15m wide. The total investment is about 11,484 billion VND.
Phu Xuyen Bridge (on Cho Ben - Yen My Expressway) connects National Highway 1A, Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway, Hung Yen - Thai Binh Expressway, Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway, reducing the load on Phap Van - Cau Gie Expressway.
The starting point intersects with National Highway 1A (Phu Xuyen Commune), the end point is at the Yen My intersection with the Hanoi - Hai Phong Expressway (Viet Tien Commune, Hung Yen Province). The length of the route is about 18.3km, the bridge length is 3km, the width is 35m, the total investment is about 10,000 billion VND.
