Hanoi temporarily bans all vehicles on some streets on January 31st

Hanoi - The temporary ban on vehicles is to ensure security and traffic safety to serve the "Light Concert - Welcoming the New Year 2026" program.

Information from the Traffic Police Department (CSGT) - Hanoi City Police, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at August Revolution Square (Cua Nam ward, Hanoi) the program "Light Music Concert - Welcoming New Year 2026" took place.

In order to serve the organization and ensure traffic order and safety, Hanoi City Police announced a plan to divert traffic and organize directions for vehicles.

Accordingly, from 2:00 PM on January 31, 2026 to the end of January 31, 2026, all vehicles are temporarily prohibited from circulating on the roads around the August Revolution Square area.

Streets subject to temporary prohibition include: Trang Tien (from Tran Quang Khai to Ngo Quyen), Phan Chu Trinh (from Ly Thuong Kiet to August Revolution Square), Le Thanh Tong (from Ly Thuong Kiet to August Revolution Square), Co Tan, Ly Thai To (from State Bank Square to August Revolution Square), Ngo Quyen (from State Bank Square to Hai Ba Trung), Hai Ba Trung (from Ngo Quyen to Le Thanh Tong), Dang Thai Than, Pham Ngu Lao.

Along with that, Hanoi City Police temporarily ban all trucks, specialized trucks, passenger cars with 16 seats or more (except buses, garbage collection vehicles, incident handling vehicles, vehicles with protection badges, vehicles of the Police, Army and priority vehicles according to regulations) and restrict personal cars and motorbikes from circulating on the following streets:

Ngo Quyen (from Hai Ba Trung to Tran Hung Dao), Hai Ba Trung (from Ngo Quyen to Le Duan), Phan Chu Trinh (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Tran Hung Dao), Le Thanh Tong (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Tran Hung Dao), State Bank Square, Ly Dao Thanh, Tong Dan, Ly Thuong Kiet, Tran Hung Dao, Hang Bai, Ba Trieu, Quang Trung.

To ensure smooth travel, functional forces organize directions for vehicles in the temporarily prohibited and restricted area.

Accordingly, vehicles from wards and communes in the East, Northeast of Hanoi City (Gia Lam, Long Bien, Phuc Loi, Viet Hung...) going to wards and communes in the West, Northwest of the City (Hai Ba Trung, Dong Da, Tu Liem, O Dien,...): passing Nhat Tan bridge, Long Bien bridge, Vinh Tuy bridge, Thanh Tri bridge - going to De 401, Tran Nhat Duat, Yen Phu, Thanh Nien, Vo Chi Cong, Ring Road III,... and vice versa.

Vehicles from wards and communes in the North of Hanoi City (Tay Ho, Dong Anh...) to wards and communes in the South of the City (Hoang Mai, Thanh Tri,...): go through Nhat Tan bridge, Thang Long bridge - go to Vo Chi Cong, Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Ring Road II, Ring Road III,... and vice versa.

Hanoi City Police requested the Department of Construction to base on the traffic diversion plan to direct the adjustment of bus routes, restrict operations on prohibited streets and temporarily stop parking vehicles on roads around the event venue area.

Functional forces recommend that people and vehicles participating in traffic consciously comply with the Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety, comply with the directions and traffic diversion of the Traffic Police and proactively choose appropriate routes during the program.
