The Hanoi People's Committee has just submitted a document to the Hanoi People's Council to approve the investment policy for the project to build Tu Lien Bridge and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge (from the intersection with Nghi Tam Street to the intersection with Truong Sa Street).
According to the Hanoi People's Committee, the implementation of the Tu Lien bridge project and the approach roads at both ends of the bridge will improve traffic conditions connecting across the Red River, promote the urbanization process of the area as a premise for implementing the policy of population expansion, reduce traffic pressure in the city center.
At the same time, reduce the load on Chuong Duong, Long Bien, Nhat Tan, Thang Long bridges and Vinh Tuy bridges; contribute to gradually completing the general planning for the construction of Hanoi Capital, the planning for the development of Hanoi transportation, ensuring security and defense for the Capital and developing modern urban space on both sides of the Red River.
Accordingly, investment is needed to build Tu Lien Bridge and the road at both ends of the bridge from the intersection with Nghi Tam Street to the intersection with Truong Sa Street with a total length of about 5.15km. The starting point connects with Nghi Tam Street, Tay Ho District, the end point passes through the intersection with Truong Sa Street.
The approach road to Tay Ho bridge (overpass and parallel road) is planned to be 48m wide. The East Anh approach road is planned to be 60m wide.
Tu Lien main bridge across the Red River is 1km long, 43m wide (including the cable-stayed arrangement). The Duong River overpass is about 0.3km long and 44m wide. The current Duong left dike overpass is about 0.08km long and 35m wide. The approach bridge to the West of Ho and Long Bien is about 1.4km long with a width ranging from 27.5m - 44m. The Dong Anh approach bridge (exceeding the planned TC13 axis) is about 0.4km long and 35m wide.
At the same time, an underpass will be built with 4 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for non-motor vehicles with a width of 24.5m on Tu Lien Street, with a total tunnel length of about 1.265km. Of which, the closed tunnel in front of the National Exhibition Center is about 0.16km long; the closed tunnel at the Truong Sa intersection is about 0.1km long; the open tunnel (at both ends of the closed tunnel and connecting between the two closed tunnels) is about 1.05km long.
Synchronously build technical infrastructure systems, sidewalks, lighting, traffic organization, trees, renovate and relocate floating technical infrastructure, etc. to ensure compliance with current standards and regulations.
The project is divided into 4 component projects. Including 3 site clearance projects (in Tay Ho, Dong Anh, Long Bien districts) and 1 construction investment project.
The total preliminary investment of the project is VND 20,171 billion. The project will be implemented in the period of 2025 - 2027.
