At the October Provincial People's Committee meeting (first time) on October 2, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Planning and Investment of Hai Duong province reported on the investment in construction, renovation and upgrading of the system of pumping stations managed by the district-level People's Committees in Hai Duong province.
According to the report, in the period of 2021 - 2024, the total number of irrigation projects and works invested in the province includes 215 projects with a total cost of 1,734 billion VND, of which 194 projects have been completed and put into use with an investment cost of 921 billion VND.
According to the review of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the report of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns, there are currently 398 pumping stations that need to be renovated and upgraded in the near future. Through reviewing the current status, comparing with specialized planning and proposals of the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development synthesized and estimated the investment portfolio to include 84 projects in 11 districts, cities and towns. The total expected investment is 120 billion VND.
Commenting on this issue, members and leaders of the Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee agreed that investment in construction, renovation and upgrading of the pumping station system managed by the district-level People's Committee is necessary. However, the investment in upgrading needs to be reviewed and considered closely on the basis of legal regulations and in accordance with the conditions of Hai Duong province.
Mr. Le Ngoc Chau - Chairman of Hai Duong Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to preside over and coordinate with localities to review the entire list of projects, classify the really urgent projects to propose upgrading and renovating with public investment capital in 2024.
For the remaining projects, it is necessary to assess the current status. If the level of renovation and upgrading is suitable for the immediate and long-term planning orientation, it will be included in the priority investment list for the period 2026 - 2030.
