Hai Phong - On the afternoon of July 20, the City Civil Defense Command announced the ban on activities on rivers and sea to prevent storm No. 3.

According to the forecast of the City Hydrometeorological Station: At 1:00 p.m. on July 20, the center of the storm was at about 21.9 degrees North latitude; 113.4 degrees East longitude, in the northern sea area of the North East Sea, about 630km east of Quang Ninh - Hai Phong, the strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 12 (118 - 133km/h), gusting to level 15; moving west at a speed of about 20-25km/h. It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the storm will move westward, then turn west-southwestward, 20-25km/h, the center of the storm will be at about 20.8N-108.9E; in the eastern sea area of the North Gulf of Tonkin, intensity level 11-12, gust level 15. Natural disaster risk level 3.

The City Civil Defense Command has announced a strict ban on ships and boats going out to sea, using exploitation, aquaculture, fishing and other activities in river mouths, along the coast, and offshore; stopping activities of the Cat Hai - Phu Long cable car route; tourism and entertainment activities in coastal and island areas from 5:00 p.m. on July 20.

The Military Command, People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones regularly notify and call on ships operating at sea; the number of workers on aquaculture cages and cages; take all measures to avoid and take safe shelter; arrange to prevent collisions and sinking of ships at anchorages, these tasks must be completed before 9:00 p.m. on July 20.

Previously, at the meeting on the same morning, Chairman of the City People's Committee Le Ngoc Chau emphasized: Proactively responding to storm No. 3 is an urgent task, requiring all levels and sectors to seriously implement the "4 on-site" motto, synchronously deploy storm prevention and control measures to ensure absolute safety for people's lives, health and property of the state, businesses and people.

The Chairman of the City People's Committee requested to step up propaganda and mobilization work so that people are vigilant and not subjective to the complicated developments of the storm. Forces must strictly implement the on-duty regime, ready to handle situations that arise.
