On November 19, the leaders of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa signed a report to the Provincial People's Committee on supporting people facing difficulties due to the impact of storms, rains, and floods in the province.
According to the above report, as a result of storm No. 4 and the floods after the storm from September 21-24, 2024, in Thanh Hoa, 80 households had to be urgently evacuated, of which the most were in Quan Son district with 39 cases, and Muong Lat district with 34 cases.
There were 75 households with severe housing damage, the most in Quan Hoa district with 53 cases, Quan Son district with 11 cases and Muong Lat district with 10 cases.
Regarding partially damaged houses, there were 118 cases, of which Quan Hoa district had 78 houses, Quan Son district had 17 houses and Muong Lat district had 20 houses.
15 schools were damaged by storm No. 4 and subsequent flooding. Most of the schools suffered landslides, collapsed fences, and partial damage to classrooms.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider and request the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Hoa province and the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee to continue supporting households and schools damaged by storm No. 4 and floods after the storm from voluntary contributions to help overcome difficulties caused by natural disasters; the level of support for households and schools damaged by storm No. 4 and floods after the storm is similar to the level of support for storm No. 3 and floods after the storm.
In September 2024, many natural disasters occurred in the province (storm No. 3 and floods after the storm, storm No. 4 and floods after the storm) causing heavy damage to people and property of the people and the state.
For the loss of life, houses, households that had to be urgently evacuated, and schools damaged by storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm, the Provincial Relief Mobilization Committee has allocated funds to support the affected households and schools.
