Hundreds of people rescue burning ship in Quang Ngai

Discovering a ship on fire at anchor in the dark of night, hundreds of people in Quang Ngai and authorities worked together to put out the fire.

On November 3, the Military Command of Duc Pho town (Quang Ngai province) said that a fishing boat of fishermen in the area caught fire, the cause is unknown, causing damage of about 100 million VND.

At around 8:45 p.m. on November 2, Mr. Nguyen Trung Cu, an employee of Sa Huynh fishing port, Duc Pho town, discovered that fishing boat QNg-44072-TS anchored at Sa Huynh fishing port was on fire in the cabin, so he called on nearby people to cut the ship's anchor rope and put out the fire, and reported the incident to the authorities.

Immediately afterwards, the Military Command of Pho Thanh Ward, Duc Pho Town, dispatched militia, local forces and local residents to put out the fire, pull and separate the ships and move nearby assets so that the fire would not spread to other ships. By about 9:40 p.m. the same day, the fire was completely contained. Initial damage was estimated at about 100 million VND, with no human casualties.

It is known that fishing boat QNg-44072-TS is owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Biet (born in 1969) in Thanh Duc 1 residential group, Pho Thanh ward, Duc Pho town; the boat was fishing with a trawl net and anchored at Sa Huynh fishing port at 6:00 p.m. on November 2.

Authorities are coordinating with local authorities to overcome the consequences and investigate the cause of the fire.
