Hundreds of people reinforce weak dykes after storms in Hai Phong

Hai Phong - Forces completed reinforcing 150m of the southern dike, Cat Hai to prevent high tides on the afternoon of July 22 due to the impact of storm No. 3.

Information from the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone, the locality mobilized crane vehicles and trucks, organized the placement of 560 bamboo and wooden piles, 1,550 sandbags to reinforce the 150m section of the southern dike, and the village of Ngoai to ensure storm prevention when the tide rises.

On July 22, the People's Committee of Cat Hai Special Zone coordinated with the Hai Phong City Military Command to increase forces, equipment, and materials to focus on reinforcing the sea dike in Hoang Chau - a vulnerable dike, at risk of overflow when the tide rises. The mobilized force is 200 people, including officers and soldiers of the City Military Command, Cat Hai Border Guard Station, local officers, civil servants and people. By noon on July 22, the dike line was basically reinforced.

Up to now, the basic dykes have ensured the prevention of landslide risks when the tide rises, ensured the safety of people and businesses' assets in the area, and limited damage caused by the circulation of storm No. 3.
