
On July 19, information from the People's Committee of Hai Loc commune, Nghe An province said that the authorities and people of Hai Loc commune had controlled and completely extinguished a forest fire that broke out at night.
At around 9:00 p.m. on July 18, people discovered a fire breaking out in the pine forest area on De Mountain, in Tien Phong hamlet, Hai Loc commune. The fire spread quickly due to hot and dry weather.
Upon receiving the news, the commune government immediately mobilized more than 250 people, including cadres, civil servants, militia, police and local people to participate in extinguishing the fire. The forces deployed to clear the ground cover and create a firebreak to prevent the fire from spreading to a wider area.
By around 1:00 a.m. on July 19, the fire was basically under control. However, at around 4am, the fire suddenly broke out again due to strong winds and high temperatures. Thanks to the on-site forces, the fire was completely extinguished immediately.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated and clarified.
