Tuyen Quang - More than 200 people were mobilized to stretch runways and put out forest fires in the Ong Mo mountain area (Trung Yen commune, Son Duong district).

On the evening of March 22, information from the People's Committee of Trung Yen commune (Son Duong district) said that the fire broke out at around 3:30 p.m. the same day at Ong Mo mountain, the border area of Tuyen Quang and Thai Nguyen provinces.

The authorities deployed 4 forces on the spot, mobilizing more than 200 people to participate in fire fighting. The initial measure was to clear the runway to prevent the fire.

According to local people, the fire started in Thai Nguyen and spread to Ong Mo mountain area.

The fire area has steep mountain terrain, more than 1 hour's walk from the residential area. The dry weather and light winds made firefighting difficult.

Previously, as Lao Dong reported, on March 21 and 22, a major fire broke out in the Nghiem mountain area in Hoang Khai commune (Yen Son district). The fire damaged 20 hectares of natural forest and killed 1 person.

According to the Tuyen Quang Provincial Forest Protection Department, there are 56 communes in the province concentrated in Lam Binh, Na Hang, Chiem Hoa, Ham Yen, Yen Son, Son Duong districts and Tuyen Quang city in the level 4 forest fire risk area, level 4 danger.
