On August 20, talking to a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Duy Thinh, Head of Van Yen District Police (Yen Bai), said that units are strengthening their forces and expanding the scope of searching for lost boys. in the forest in Khay Dao village, Lam Giang commune.
Initial information on August 17, D.VL (6 years old, from Khay Dao village) and a group of people went to the hill behind the house to pick fruit.
After that, L went alone in another direction and got lost and disappeared.
After receiving the news, the local government mobilized more than 100 people and dozens of people in the village and commune to participate in searching for the baby.
The groups were divided into many directions to search streams, ponds, and hills, monitoring through cameras along Provincial Road 164 to search for L. At one time, the forces numbered up to 150 people.

"The district police agree with the local authorities and family members that the reason the baby is missing is due to being lost or in an accident, but has not yet determined that there are signs of a crime," Chief of District Police Van Yen informed.
Many local people also commented that because the terrain of Khe Dao village is a single-track road, with high mountains on both sides, many thick trees, making it difficult for adults to pass, it is likely that L fell into a deep hole.
Therefore, the search force is clearing bushes and entering deep crevices to search for L.
On the morning of August 20, Mr. Le Thanh Hung - Vice Chairman of Van Yen District People's Committee visited and encouraged the child's family and directly directed the search work.
