As one of the key projects being implemented in the central super ward, the landscape project behind Vo Nguyen Giap Square is expected to create a new look and expand community living space for people.
The project has a total investment of 200 billion VND, of which the provincial budget provides more than 32 billion VND, the rest from the budget of Thai Nguyen City (old).

The project started in September 2024, expected to be completed and put into use in 2026.
The scale of implementation is about 25,000m2, including traffic roads, sports fields, parking lots, service works, tree systems and miniatures to serve entertainment needs...
According to Lao Dong Newspaper's reporter in mid-August 2025, after nearly 1 year of construction, the shape of the project has gradually emerged.
At the construction site, many machines and mechanical vehicles are operating continuously. Workers urgently leveled the ground, built internal traffic roads and constructed some auxiliary items.
Some main items are also being accelerated to shape a new look for the area behind the square.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha (Phan Dinh Phung ward) said that in recent years, Thai Nguyen has changed significantly in landscape but still lacks areas with many trees and public utilities.
"When we learned about the project implementation, I and many people were looking forward to the project being completed soon, thereby having more public space, contributing to improving the quality of life," Ms. Ha added.

Previously, information from the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen City (now Phan Dinh Phung Ward) said that the project is currently under urgent construction.
The site clearance work is expected to be completed in 2025, striving to put the project into use earlier than planned.
When completed, the project will connect with the central walking street being implemented, creating a synchronous chain of public spaces, helping to enhance urban landscape and open up entertainment space for people.
