The Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just assigned the Department of Construction to prepare a pre-feasibility study report to adjust the project to upgrade and expand Vinh Loc road, the main artery connecting the areas of the western gateway.
Currently, the road is only 7-8m wide, often congested due to high traffic volume.

Recorded on December 2, although not rush hour, the number of vehicles traveling on this road is quite large, and there are frequent congestion at intersections.
Ms. Tran Thu Hoai, a long-time resident on Vinh Loc Street (near the Vinh Loc - Quach Dieu intersection) said that traffic jams in this area often occur, especially in the morning and evening, making travel and business difficult.
"There is almost always congestion in the morning because there are many students and workers moving together," said Ms. Hoai.

When hearing the news that the road will be widened to 30m, Ms. Hoai said that people were very excited. "If I can do it, it's great, everyone here hopes to avoid traffic jams," she said.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Phuc (living near Ba Tri bridge) said that this intersection is often chaotic during rush hour. "This road has many companies closing it, many workers working, especially many types of trucks moving, so there are many congestion," Mr. Phuc shared.
According to him, expanding roads and renovating intersections will help reduce congestion significantly.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Construction, the project to expand Vinh Loc Street is 7.2 km long, from Tran Van Giau intersection to Road 2A (Vinh Loc Industrial Park). The road will be widened to 30m, with 6 lanes.
The Vinh Loc - Tran Van Giau intersection will be designed with additional turning points to ensure convenient vehicles entering and exiting.
The intersection between Vinh Loc - Quach Dieu - Vo Van - Nguyen Thi Tu routes will be built synchronously to improve traffic capacity.

Ba Tri Bridge will be newly built with a width of about 30m and a length of more than 31m to meet the large volume of traffic.
The project has a total investment of more than 4,300 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget, expected to be implemented in the 2026-2030 period.
