Lao Cai - The 50 billion VND anti-erosion embankment in the old Pom Han ward is still under construction.

The anti-landslide embankment project in groups 13, 14, 15 of the old Pom Han ward (now Cam Duong) has a total investment of 50 billion VND, expected to protect the safety of dozens of households in the landslide risk area.

The project started in April 2025 and is expected to be completed in August of the same year. However, to date, the project has not been completed.

On November 12, according to Lao Dong Newspaper, the rainy days that have lasted for many months have significantly affected the construction progress.

In the project implementation area, there are still some machines in operation, the appearance of the embankment has gradually taken shape.

However, while waiting for the embankment to be completed, dozens of households still have to live in temporary conditions. Some rent a room, some stay at a cultural house, both cramped and full of fear every time there is heavy rain.

Information from the Cam Duong - Hop Thanh Construction Investment Project Management Board said that the project has received special attention from the provincial leaders.

Regarding the reason why the embankment cannot be completed on time, according to the leader of the Cam Duong - Hop Thanh Construction Investment Project Management Board, the project has no problems with site clearance because it has been cleared, but due to recent heavy rain, the construction process has been interrupted, the progress is over 60%.

Currently, the investor is coordinating with the contractor to take advantage of the sunny days to speed up construction, working all night to complete the project soon, stabilizing people's lives.

The extension of the progress has caused the lives of temporary residents to continue to be disrupted, and their activities are lacking, but many people still believe in the drastic participation of local authorities to complete the project soon, and people will soon have a peaceful life, escaping the fear of landslides every rainy and flood season.
