At more than 9:00 a.m. on March 2, a reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper was present at the scene of the railway accident in Duc Lien Commune, Vu Quang District (near Hoa Duyet Station) and noted that the railway line here was open and trains could travel.

Mr. Tran Van Ke - Director of Nghe Tinh Railway Joint Stock Company was present at the scene and said that after efforts to rescue and clear the scene, focusing on fixing the problem, at nearly 9:00 a.m. this morning (March 2), the railway line was blocked due to this traffic accident and the route was reopened.

According to Mr. Ke, the railway line was opened earlier than expected thanks to high efforts. The train is now open to traffic, but the work of spreading and adding crushed stone to the railway rails is still being carried out.

At the time the reporter from Lao Dong Newspaper was present at the scene, a cargo ship was also moving safely through the accident site that had been fixed.

As Lao Dong reported, at around 8:20 a.m. on March 1, on the residential intersection with the railway in Duc Lien commune, an accident occurred between a cargo ship D18E 607 traveling from South to North with a truck with license plate 26C-032.88 crossing the road.

The accident caused the front of the train and 3 carriages to overturn to the right in the direction of movement, a railway section of about 70m was damaged, emerging from the ground.

The train driver suffered minor injuries, the truck driver was lucky to escape and was not injured thanks to being able to jump out in time after the truck stalled on the railway. After the accident, the authorities were present to investigate the cause.

Due to the railway paralyzation accident, hundreds of passengers between Thanh Luyen (Huong Khe) and Yen Trung (Duc Tho) stations were transferred by passenger car to continue their journey to the nearby station.
