The project to comprehensively develop dynamic urban areas has been implemented in Yen Bai city since 2019 with a total investment of 63.27 million USD, equivalent to more than 1,423 billion VND, invested by the Yen Bai Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board.
Among the components that make up this project, the Cau Dai stream flood control embankment and the road connecting Nguyen Tat Thanh street to Au Co street are the two most important works.
Flood control embankment 192 billion VND
The project to build the Cau Dai stream flood control embankment, constructed by Dong Tien Limited Liability Company, with a total investment of more than 192 billion VND, started on February 16, 2022 and is expected to be completed in March 2025.
The project includes many items such as: Construction of embankment, embankment corridor road and works on embankment.
According to records, right after the flood, dozens of heavy machinery and workers were rushing to complete the project on schedule.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan (Yen Ninh ward, Yen Bai city) said that in the past, all waste was dumped directly into the stream by people, which both narrowed the flow and caused pollution.
"When the project was built, the stream gradually regained its clarity, creating a clean and beautiful environment," said Ms. Xuan.
300 billion VND connecting route
The construction project of the road connecting Nguyen Tat Thanh Street to Au Co Street is about 4.2km long, constructed by the joint venture of Nam Phong Investment, Construction and Trading Joint Stock Company, Yen Bai Traffic Construction Joint Stock Company and Thanh Trung Construction and Trading Company Limited, with a total investment capital of nearly 300 billion VND.
Construction started in December 2022 and is expected to be completed in April 2025.
According to Lao Dong's report on October 11, after days of storms and rain, hundreds of workers have returned to work at the construction site.
Mr. Dinh Van Son (Tan Thinh ward, Yen Bai city) said that people have high expectations for this road to be completed soon.
"Once completed, the route will shorten the travel distance from home to the city center," said Mr. Son.
Speaking with Lao Dong, Mr. Doan Van Hai - project manager said that according to the contract, the route is expected to be completed in April 2025.
"The unit is striving to take advantage of favorable weather to pave the entire road surface by December 2024. Currently, the total completed work volume has reached more than 60%," Mr. Hai informed.
At a recent field inspection of the Dynamic Urban Development Project - Yen Bai City Sub-project, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Phuoc emphasized that the project aims to upgrade infrastructure, minimize damage caused by floods, connect traffic, and develop trade.
Once completed, this project is expected to contribute to changing the face of Yen Bai city.
