Quang Ninh - At 6:00 a.m. on March 13, in front of a household in Group 1, Nam Son 2 area, Cam Son ward, Cam Pha city, a sinkhole appeared more than 5m wide and about 2m deep.

At 10am, another sinkhole appeared nearby, causing part of the asphalt concrete road and sidewalk to collapse.

According to statistics from the People's Committee of Cam Son Ward from 2023 to present, there have been nearly 10 sinkholes in the ward with a width of 3-10m and a depth of 1-2.15.5m. In Nam Son 2 area alone, on July 31, 2023, a similar subsidence occurred.

Immediately after receiving information about the latest subsidence, the People's Committee of Cam Pha city quickly directed Cam Son ward to evacuate households from the danger zone, warning surrounding households about the risk of subsidence. Emergency measures such as stretching ropes, placing warning signs and arranging 24/7 security forces... were deployed to ensure safety, preventing people and vehicles from moving into the danger zone.

The Department of Science and Technology is coordinating with the Institute of Geophysics under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology to research, determine the cause and comprehensively assess the geology of the area. The goal is to provide scientific and technological solutions to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
