On January 13, Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung - Chairman of the People's Committee of Ky Son district (Nghe An province) said that currently, Nghe An province's functional agencies are coordinating with local authorities to investigate the cause of the particularly serious traffic accident that occurred in Nam Can commune on January 12, killing 6 people.
“Leaders, the professional department of Nghe An Provincial Police and the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee were present at the scene to investigate and verify the cause of the accident as well as support the families in burying the victims,” said Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung.
For the locality, after learning about the incident, the People's Committee of Ky Son district, the People's Committee of Nam Can commune and agencies, organizations and unions coordinated to visit, encourage and support the families of the deceased. Initially, the district allocated funds to support the families at the rate of 15 million VND/victim.
“The six deceased belonged to three families, including two poor households and one near-poor household. The rate of poor households in Nam Can commune in particular and Ky Son district in general is high, and life is still difficult. The accident happened near Tet, which was a great pain and loss. The locality has tried its best to support the families of the victims. The district and commune leaders were present at the families to encourage and share their feelings,” added Mr. Nguyen Viet Hung.
As Lao Dong reported, at around 6:00 p.m. on January 12, a particularly serious traffic accident occurred at Km 21+700 on provincial road 543D through Nam Can commune, Ky Son district, Nghe An province.
Truck with license plate 37C-537.03 carrying dong leaves, driven by driver V.V.H (born in 1982, residing in Luu Kien commune, Tuong Duong district, Nghe An), suddenly lost control and crashed into a house.
The accident left 5 people dead on the spot, 1 person died on the way to the emergency room, and the truck driver was injured. Among the deceased victims, there were 4 children.
