Document No. 10235 stated that on October 22, Lao Dong Newspaper published an article “Pink water discharged from a wood factory in Hoa Binh” reflecting on the concern of people in Mong Hoa commune, Hoa Binh city because of strange colored wastewater from the wood processing factory of Son Thuy Joint Stock Company.
Regarding this issue, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Quach Tat Liem directed the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to preside over and coordinate with the Provincial Police, Department of Science and Technology, Hoa Binh City People's Committee and relevant agencies and units to conduct field inspections and verify the reported content; Handle or propose strict handling according to current law provisions for violations.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province requested units to seriously suspend operations when the units have not fully implemented environmental protection procedures and other related procedures.
Report to the Provincial People's Committee on implementation results before November 1.

At the working session on October 21, the working delegation discovered that wastewater discharge license No. 03/GP-UBND issued by the People's Committee of Hoa Binh province on January 7, 2019, valid for 5 years, expired on January 7, 2024; This enterprise has not yet presented the results of environmental quality monitoring in 2024.
Actual inspection showed that this enterprise's factory has not arranged a temporary storage area for hazardous waste and does not collect and store hazardous waste according to regulations.
Concluding the working session, Hoa Binh City Police requested Son Thuy Joint Stock Company to complete all documents and procedures related to production and business activities and commit to comply with the provisions of the law on environmental protection.
Previously, on October 18, at the sewer located in the area bordering the forest product processing factory of Son Thuy Joint Stock Company, the group of reporters directly witnessed the waste discharge situation of this enterprise.
The waste dyed the canal pink and flowed straight into the fields and Bay Chau stream - where people in Ao Kenh and Dong Giang villages irrigate and cultivate.
