The Government Office has announced the conclusion of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh's direction at the inspection of key projects in the transport sector, including the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway project.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee urgently invest in the 3km section in the city, to complete it synchronously with the section passing through Binh Duong province.
For the 52km section through Binh Duong province, which has now started construction, the Prime Minister requested the People's Committee of Binh Duong province to calculate the progress, speed up the implementation, and strive to complete the project by September 2, 2026.

Meanwhile, Binh Phuoc province also broke ground on the project in mid-December 2024. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province speed up the implementation of the 7km section, to be completed in 2025.
According to records, in recent times, Binh Phuoc province has focused on removing difficulties and speeding up the project implementation progress.
The Binh Phuoc Provincial Investment and Construction Project Management Board is completing the construction design documents. At the same time, solve problems related to site clearance.
According to the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway construction project through the province, 7km long, is invested by the Binh Phuoc Provincial Investment and Construction Management Board.

In phase 1, the project will clear the land with an width of 80m, invest in 4 full expressway lanes (with continuous emergency lanes), parallel roads on both sides with a width of 11m and sidewalks of 6m.
Design speed 100 km/h. The project is invested in the form of public investment with a total capital of VND 1,474 billion. Of which, the central capital is 1,000 billion VND and the local capital is 474 billion VND.
