Hoi An is crowded with tourists during Tet At Ty 2025

In the first days of the new year of At Ty 2025, Hoi An ancient town became an attractive destination with the number of tourists increasing dramatically compared to the same period last year.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism (DCT) of Quang Nam, from December 26 to the second day of the Lunar New Year 2025, the total number of tourists to the province is estimated at 255,000, an increase of 78% over the same period in 2024.

Of which, international visitors are estimated at 115,000, up 84%, domestic visitors are estimated at 140,000, up 55% over the same period in 2024. Room occupancy rate is estimated at 60%.

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam, this year the weather is sunny and favorable for sightseeing and walking activities.

“Thanks to favorable factors, Hoi An continues to affirm itself as an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists in the early days of spring.

“Roads such as Tran Phu, Chau Thuong Van, Bach Dang, Nguyen Thai Hoc are packed with locals and tourists. Many cultural and artistic activities such as lion and dragon parades, Bai Choi singing, and traditional music performances attract a lot of participants,” said Mr. Hong.

Ms. Maria Gonzalez, a tourist from Spain, shared: "I am very impressed with the typical scenery of Hoi An and the folk games during Tet. Tet here is very crowded, but also peaceful."

Mr. Tran Van Minh, a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City, said: "Hoi An always has a special attraction, especially during Tet. What I like most is walking under the rows of lanterns and enjoying the specialties."
