On the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the birth of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh (March 15, down to March 15, 2025) - Heroic female general, a prestigious leader of the Party and the Vietnamese revolution, an outstanding son of his hometown Ben Tre, on March 15, 2025, in Ben Tre city, Ben Tre province, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee, Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics and Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee jointly organized a ministerial-level scientific conference: "The life and revolutionary career of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh".
The purpose of the Workshop is to review the vibrant and rich revolutionary activities and to express gratitude and honor the great contributions of Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the Vietnamese people and the homeland of Ben Tre. This is an important, practical and meaningful political activity that contributes to strengthening propaganda and education on the pride and heroic revolutionary tradition of the heroic hometown of Ben Tre Dong Khoi, an opportunity to spread the revolutionary example of comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh has held positions such as: Member of the Provincial Women's Executive Committee for National Defense; Head of the Women's Union for National Defense of Ben Tre province; Deputy Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee; Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee; Member of the Vietnam Women's Union of Zone VIII, Secretary of the Vietnam Women's Liberation Union of South Vietnam; Deputy Commander of the Armed Forces for Liberation of South Vietnam. She was promoted to the rank of Major General in April/1974, the first female general of the Vietnam People's Army. After the national reunification day, comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh was assigned to take on many important positions of the Party and State: Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (term IV, V, VI); National Assembly Delegate (term VI, VII, VIII); Deputy Minister of War Invalids and Social Affairs; Vice President, Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the Vietnam Women's Union; Vice President of the State Council; Vice President of the World Democratic Women's Union; President of the Vietnam - Cuba Friendship Association.
Within the framework of the Workshop program, on the evening of March 14, 2025, an art program will be held (Sisters of Coconut Land Performance). On March 15, 2025, activities will take place: Offering incense at the Women's Memorial Site of General Nguyen Thi Dinh; Exhibition of images, books, documents, screening of documentaries about the life and revolutionary career of comrade Nguyen Thi Dinh;...
The official workshop took place from 8:30 - 11:40 on March 15, 2025 at the Hall of the Ben Tre Provincial People's Committee, including scientific reports, presentations, discussions and summaries, closing the workshop.
