On November 29, the Irrigation Investment and Construction Management Board 5 announced the regulation of Ta Trach Lake downstream of the Huong River.
At 9:00 a.m. the same day, the lake's water level reached the elevation of +43.41m. To ensure the safety of the project and contribute to reducing flooding downstream, the control unit discharged through the spillway and turbine with a total flow of 250 - 500 m3/s, starting from 3pm.
According to the Hue City Hydrometeorological Station, from November 30 to December 1, the area will have moderate rain due to the influence of increased cold air.
From December 2 to 5, the sky will be cloudy with rain, scattered moderate rain, and some places will have heavy rain. The total rainfall from November 29 to December 8 is generally 150 - 300mm, in some places over 400mm.
Ta Trach Lake (Phu Bai Ward, Hue City) is located on the Ta Trach River - the main branch of the Huong River, with a basin area of 717km2, capacity of 509.8 million m3.
The lake is responsible for generating electricity, fighting minor floods, reducing major floods, providing domestic - industrial water, irrigation for the Huong River Delta and adding fresh water to push salinity, improving the lagoon environment.
