Hue operates to regulate hydroelectric reservoirs to cope with heavy rain

HUE - Hue City will operate the regulation of Binh Dien, Huong Dien, and Ta Trach hydroelectric reservoirs to proactively respond to the upcoming heavy rain.

On November 12, the Hue City Civil Defense Command issued an order to operate and regulate the Binh Dien hydropower reservoir (upstream of the Huong River) through overflow and turbines with a gradual increase of 200 - 800m3/s, starting from 3:00 p.m. the same day, adjusted according to actual flow.

Previously, Huong Dien Lake (the source of the Bo River) was ordered to discharge from 4:00 p.m. on November 11 with a flow of 300 - 700m3/s; Ta Trach Lake discharged from 8:00 a.m. on November 12 with a flow of 300 - 800m3/s.

The Command Committee requested the lake management units to warn downstream with horns and loudspeakers, closely monitor the water level of the Huong and Bo rivers and report regularly. communes and wards downstream strictly prohibit boats, firewood picking, and fishing on the river, except in special cases.

According to the forecast, from November 15 to 20, Hue City will have moderate to very heavy rain, with total rainfall ranging from 500 - 600mm, mountainous areas 700 - 900mm, some places over 1,000mm; A Luoi area will be cold, the sea will be rough.
