Deteriorating facilities
After many years of establishment, currently, the staff of the Dak Glong District Vocational Education - Continuing Education Center are being temporarily arranged by the District People's Committee to work in an official residence.
This temporary workplace is currently facing serious deterioration of its facilities. This situation has significantly affected the daily life and work of its staff.
Actual investigation showed that the ceiling and walls of the headquarters were covered with mold and moss, and the space was humid. Inside, the equipment and furniture were old and damaged...
An officer working at the Dak Glong District Vocational Education and Continuing Education Center shared: "Every time it rains, the situation gets worse. The roof of the building is no longer airtight, causing rainwater to leak inside. Once, when it rained heavily, water seeped into the wall, wetting the entire desk area and important documents.
Mold on walls and ceilings not only affects aesthetics but also poses potential health risks, especially respiratory diseases caused by humid spaces and mold.
In reality, the unsafe working environment affects the morale and performance of the staff at the Center. The lack of facilities and equipment also greatly affects the vocational training for students.
"When opening vocational training classes for people, the unit must borrow a room from the commune People's Committee or some other qualified location" - this officer added.
Efforts to complete the task
Mr. Hoang Huy Tung - Director of the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Dak Glong district - shared: "Although we face many difficulties in terms of facilities, unsanitary and degraded workplaces, we still try to complete the assigned tasks."
According to Mr. Tung, vocational training for local people is still being carried out regularly, according to the set plan. Trainees also sympathize with the lack of training facilities and equipment and still try to study hard.
In reality, the work of supporting investment in facilities, equipment, and training means for the center in the period of 2021 - 2024 has not been implemented by competent authorities.
Up to now, the center is still temporarily working at the official residence of the District People's Committee. The area of the residence is only enough for office work, the system of theoretical and practical classrooms according to current regulations is still not available.
The leader of Dak Glong District People's Committee said that the current building used to be the headquarters of the District People's Council office. In the coming time, the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education will be merged into the specialized departments. This process is expected to be completed by the end of 2024.
In particular, the functions and tasks of the continuing education sector will be merged into the Department of Education and Training to continue to deploy and implement. The task of implementing vocational education will be deployed and implemented by the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
"This merger marks an important change in vocational training in the locality. After completing the procedures, the District People's Committee will have an official announcement with instructions for the people," Mr. Phuong added.
