This is a large-scale, practical sports, military, and political event to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026), towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Security Forces (July 12, 1946 - July 12, 2026).
The sports festival has more than 70 delegations from the People's Police force, from units directly under the Ministry of Public Security and police of provinces and cities in the Northern region with more than 1,900 officers, soldiers, athletes, and coaches participating.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Public Security, Deputy Minister of Public Security - emphasized that strengthening and improving the quality and efficiency of regulations, military affairs, martial arts and sports is one of the very important tasks and solutions. This work contributes to building a truly clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern People's Police force, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new era.
In recent years, sports, military regulations, and martial arts have always been concerned and directed by the Party Committee of the Central Public Security, leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, and Party committees and heads of police at all levels, helping to improve physical strength, maintain discipline, order, posture, and style of officers and soldiers.
This sports festival is not only a physical training activity, but also an opportunity to show the bravery, fighting spirit, regularity, and elite of the People's Police force.
Immediately after the ritual part were professional performances of more than 1,500 officers and soldiers such as: martial arts performances, escort motorcycles, qigong, use of combat horses, counter-terrorism, and live-fire drills to capture criminals with hot weapons.
The performance program closed with a coordinated plan to handle traffic accidents and fire trucks on a large scale with modern equipment such as fire robots and Morita ladder trucks.
The sports festival will take place until May 28. Athletes compete in the following events: shooting, running over obstacles, People's Police martial arts, 7-a-side men's football and pickleball.
The competitions are held at many locations in Quang Ninh province, including the National Training Center for Counter-Terrorism K02, Dong Mai ward; Quang Ninh Provincial Sports Complex, Tuan Chau ward; Song Minh football field, Cao Xanh ward; Pickleball Golden field and Pickleball Talent field in Ha Long ward.
