On April 28, Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) announced a temporary traffic organization plan for the section Km0+700 - Km21+850 (from Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong intersection to Nguyen Van Tao intersection) and the section Km50+530 - Km57+581 (from Phuoc An intersection to National Highway 51 intersection) under the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway construction investment project.
According to VEC, the temporary operation of some sections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway project aims to reduce traffic pressure on some existing routes and intersections, especially serving the travel needs of the people, ensuring order and traffic safety during the April 30 - May holiday and the peak summer tourism season in 2025.
The temporary operation time is from 6:00 p.m. on April 28, 2025.
Regarding the temporary traffic organization plan, VEC also informed about vehicles allowed to travel on the expressway, operating speed and safe distance between vehicles.
At the same time, VEC guides traffic at the intersections of the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway, including:
Intersection No. 1 (at Km0+700) - the intersection between the project and the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway (Ben Luc District, Long An Province).
Intersection No. 2 (at Km3+410) - the intersection between the project and National Highway 1 (Binh Chanh District, Ho Chi Minh City). This is an intersection with a central roundabout, directly connecting to National Highway 1. The intersection has all 4 branches up/down the expressway, along with a roundabout system to help regulate and change direction flexibly between directions.
Intersection No. 4 (at Km21+850) - the intersection between Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Nguyen Van Tao Street (HCMC). Note, this is the final intersection of the temporary exploitation route, requiring vehicles to turn down when reaching this intersection (in Long Thoi commune, Nha Be district, Ho Chi Minh City).
For the section through Dong Nai province, intersection No. 7 (Km50+530 - Phuoc An intersection (intersection between the project and the road to Phuoc An Port), in Phuoc An commune, Nhon Trach district. This is an intersection other than the interconnecting level with a central roundabout, allowing flexible organization and direct connection between Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and Phuoc An Port area, Truong Chinh Street (Nhon Trach District) ...
Intersection No. 8 (Km57+581) - the intersection between the project and National Highway 51 to Vung Tau, in Long Thanh District. This is an intersection with a central roundabout, directly connecting the Ben Luc - Long Thanh Expressway and National Highway 51.
Currently, VEC has developed and reported to competent authorities a service price plan for using the Ben Luc - Long Thanh expressway.
After completing the procedures according to regulations, VEC will announce the time to organize fee collection for the sections of the route put into operation, expected in the second quarter of 2025.
On April 19, VEC held the Ben Luc - Long Thanh highway technical traffic from the intersection of National Highway 1 (Km3+420) to Nguyen Van Tao intersection (Km21+850). On the eve of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake 2025, VEC also put into temporary exploitation of two sections, including: section from the intersection of Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong (Km0+600) to the intersection of Highway 1 (Km3+420) and the section from Phuoc An intersection (Km50+530) to the intersection of Highway 51 (Km57+581).
